The Realtime Software Package Quotation
System (Estimating) assists the manufacturing company in
preparation, issue, and tracking of customer quotations.
The Quotation package allows the user to quickly and
accurately prepare a customer quotation by accessing the
product component cost, labor standard, and operation
information from the manufacturing data base. Any new raw
materials, components, or operations may be entered on-line.
Detailed tooling information by tool is also entered on-line.
After entering margin and commission factors, the user
receives an itemized quotation summary, either on-line at the
CRT or printed.
Receiving, issue and follow-up dates are stored for the
quotation, as well as contract status, win/loss reason, and
competitors pricing. This permits on-line tracking of all
quotations, and with the use of Data Retrieval query language,
allows for easy analysis of issued quotations, tailored to the
user's needs.
Specific features of the Quotation System include:

| Storage of up to 300 lines of customer, engineering or
manufacturing text information. |
| Tracking of customer inquiry, quotation issue and
revision date. |
| Automatic access to cost and manufacturing information
on any component of the quoted end item which is currently
active in the manufacturing control system. |
| Easy on-line entry of new components, operations,
standards and operations currently active in the
manufacturing data base. |
| On-Line entry of bulk material or material summary costs
for components on which no detail is desired. |
| On-Line entry of detailed tooling requirements,
individual and summary prices and margins. |
| On-Line entry of status and competitor pricing
information. |
| Detail and summary quotation information available on
line or printed. |
| Multi-level quotation capability.
